At Futsu, our journey began with a deep love for Japanese cuisine, not just the flavors, but the entire culture behind it. We’re fascinated by every step of the process: how ingredients are carefully sourced, how dishes are prepared with precision, how they’re meant to be enjoyed, and of course, how incredible they taste.
One of our founders has family in Japan who run their own spice shops, giving us a unique connection to authentic, organically sourced Japanese ingredients. Thanks to this relationship, we’re able to bring high-quality spices, soy sauces, dressings, and other essentials directly from Japan to your kitchen.
What makes this even more special is that many of these products are exclusive to Futsu in Europe, meaning you won’t find them anywhere else unless you make the trip to Japan yourself.
With Futsu, you can experience the true essence of Japanese cooking, right from home.
Philosophy
Ordinary done extraordinarily.
In Japanese, “futsu” means ordinary. But to us, it’s a mindset — a quiet respect for everyday things, done with care, intention, and precision. We’re not chasing hype. We’re chasing depth. That’s why we’re drawn to the unassuming, the slow-made, the deeply thoughtful.

What We Do
We explore, curate, and connect.
We hunt down makers who live their craft — from miso masters to fermentation geeks and traditional knife forgers. We taste. We test. We ask a thousand questions. Then we share what we find with you: products, stories, techniques, and a chance to geek out together.
